If there is one thing I love just as much as marketing, it’s Georgia Football. Universities Forever is a collegiate apparel store in my hometown, Cumming, GA, with every UGA product you could imagine. Every Bulldog game day, Stuart, the owner, packs up his truck withe jerseys, jewelry, hats and more, and heads to Creature Comforts in downtown Athens. I meet him bright and early to set up the tent, the displays, and post on social media to reel in customers before they even open the gates. Before I head to the stadium myself, I meet with dozens of dedicated Georgia fans who are looking to add to their game-day look or at -home collection.
Last November and December, during the winter breaks, I worked in the store to help manage the holiday madness, creating posts to showcase their events and even advertise the search for a new hire.
Stuart and his co-owner, Jini, approached me in early August with news of their 6th Annual Fan Fest happening on September 20th. Reigning Georgia Football’s KJ Bolden, former linebacker Rennie Curran, author Charlie English, and live music from the Redcoat Alumni Band. They wanted me to manage the marketing for this event, and I was beyond excited to help!
I worked with them to create email campaigns, social media posts, Shopify site pages, and a TikTok account. We saw SUCH success both in-person and online, more than doubling last year’s event sales, reaching nearly 12,000 users on TikTok in just 4 weeks, and increasing interactions by almost 3,000% across Meta platforms.
It’s such a fun, rewarding experience to be a part of this hometown company in my college town. Next up: our “Between the Brews” event in Athens!
