The 2024-2025 Client Teams Program was by far the most advanced we had seen in the American Marketing Association at the University of Georgia. After winning the Client Team Competition for my team’s work with Katie Bop Boutique, I decided to run for the Director of Client Services chair on the executive board. In this position, I connected teams of AMA students to companies for the semester, allowing them to gain real-world marketing experience in college. I pitched to companies in Georgia and across the country, offering the marketing objectives these students can undertake and negotiating contract details.
In the Fall of 2024, I secured seven companies, creating semester-long internship opportunities for 42 students among the 114 applicants. In the Spring, we had 55 students spread across 11 clients located both here in Athens and across the country. We broke AMA at UGA records for the most interest we have seen in this program, with over 110 applicants last semester and 124 this semester. In this same year, I also also started serving as a mentor to underclassmen students, giving my experience and advice on Terry College admissions, other campus club opportunities, and course registration.
For my senior year, I’m serving as the Director of External Relations. I plan and coordinate company tours for Athens, Atlanta, and NYC, providing students with networking and job opportunities. So far in the Fall 2025 semester, we’ve toured Sanford Stadium behind the scenes and Kaptiv8 Marketing, a full-service agency in Athens.
